Wu Sibo treats the view that comes into his eyes so heedlessly yet serenely, with an unquestionable glaze of his "fixed colors" upon everything he sees, the savage power mixing primitive and modern elements as well as the unburdened yet hopeless moods nevertheless reveal a "heavy" sense of the real, which resonates with the audience effectively.
As for the subject matters, Wu Sibo has its preferences. He often draws on the desolate views in the suburbs or his travels, whose bleak and desolate scenes casts a sharp and yet uncanny contrast with the triumphantly forwarding era. His enthusiasm is also reserved for those uncertain things clouds, water, smoke and fire so as to deliver a cold sense of emptiness. The gloomy grey tones in his paintings as well as the sudden stroke of light seem to have made apparent his perspective as a "night stalker".
Without a doubt, his processing methods are relevant to his thinking around painting. Contrary to those emphasizing on resolving traditional painting, reflecting on the mechanism of painting and the tendency towards conceptual experiments, Wu is more inclined to grasp his intuitions, obtaining a power that points directly to one's heart by quietly portraying the mundane views in front of him. He has had much thoughts on the forms and colors expressed through things, yet never stopped at a mere formal level; his paintings brought strong social situations into themselves, yet are never just instrumental illustrations of the status quo. With an inherent literary potential, he weaves certain narrative elements and poetics into his paintings, without having any complete narrative forms. His paintings are surprisingly modest, yet by ways of those unusual struggles between perception and reality, they nevertheless gained a peculiar sense of contemporariness to themselves.
